Of course there are the classics:
Had a kid track down a I.D. 10 T form... hahahahahaha. and of course no one had it and kept sending him up to the next level to get it. By the time he reached the Major he about shit himself!

And blinker fluid, good ole operators will fall for that one everytime. I miss being in a regular shop where we can do this! :D

I HAD A MARINE WHO COULDNT FIGURE HOW TO PUT THE CANVAS BACK ON A 7TON HE ASKED IF I KNEW WHAT HE WAS DOING WRONG. I TOLD HIM HE NEEDED TO GET THE CANVAS STRETCHER FROM THE OPS QC. I KNEW THE SGT AND TXTED HIM ABOUT IT. WHEN MY PFC GOT THERE HE TOLD HIM HE HAD IT BUT HE NEEDED A PRIC-E-6 FROM THE SHOP. MY MARINE, DOWN IN THE DUMPS AT THIS POINT HAVING TO WALK THE 500 YARD DISTANCE BACK TO THE SHOP, SHOWED BACK UP AND ASKED ME WHERE TO FIND A PRIC-E-6. I TOLD HIM SSGT HAD IT AND TOLD HIM TO GET A I-D-10-T FORM FROM THE SHOP CHIEF WHILE HE WAS THERE. THE SHOP CHIEF HAD HIM STAND AT ATTENTION AT HIS DESK WHILE HE "LOOKED FOR THE FORM" IN HIS COMPUTER (WATCHING YOUTUBE ON MUTE). HE GIVES THE KID A BLANK 1348 AND THE PFC PROCEEDED TO THE MAINT. CHIEF FOR THE PRIC-E-6. SSGT SENT HIM BACK TO THE OPS SECTION WITH THE FORM BEING "EMAILED" TO THE OPS QC. OPS GAVE HIM A TARP, A COUPLE OF GENERATOR GROUNDING RODS, A 4 FOOT PEICE OF CABLE, AN ALLEN KEY, AND 1 GLOVE MISSING 2 FINGERS. IT DIDNT DAWN ON THE POOR KID THAT HE HAD BEEN DOOPED UNTIL HE HAD GOTTEN BACK WITH THE FOOT LOCKER AND TRIED TO SET IT UP WITH THE VERY HARD TO READ HAND WRITTEN INSTRUCTIONS. WE CLOSED UP SHOP AT THIS POINT AND HAD HIM RETURN ALL OF THE GEAR TO OPS. IT MAY NOT BE HARD TO TELL BUT THIS KID WASNT THE BRIGHTEST CRAYON IN THE BOX.
