Engine oil dipstick tube

Postby Cford31386 » 05 Nov 2014, 08:11

The engine oil dipstick tube that was switched out during the upgrade for the 400 amp alternator upgrade has a NIIN that is not loaded in GCSS. Does anyone have a good website to open purchase parts? The NIIN is 015958831 and part number 12506777. Any help would be appreciated. It's not the same length/shape as the one in the tm.

Contact the Program Office to get the information. I've had issues in the past with NIINs not having been assigned to parts and the PM is good about rushing those things when there is a need from the using units. They can't fix what they don't know is broken. Semper Fidelis.

if you EVER come into a situation where a FEDLOG item (NIIN) isn't loaded into GCSS.. get with your MMO and have them fwd that information up to higher.. so that they can do an IMO load... (old school MHIF load) .. and / or submit a PQDR.. that should help you out as well... as well as just getting with supply..

great catch.. haven't heard of this as of yet..

Meyer,
Where did you locate the NIIN my Marines have been looking for it in order to verify the NIIN and so far we have been unable to locate it for verification. We are in the process of talking to our higher who is contacting the Program office however was still wanting to know where you got the NIIN from.

From the 400 Amp Alternator Upgrade kit. Somehow my Bn had an extra one sitting around and I needed the alternator, so, I took the whole kit to make it easier on myself. I just happen to remember this post. Hope it helped. If anything I still have this dipstick, I can try and ship it to you if you need it?

The NSN for the long dipstick is in this document. Do not have anything for the neck though.
