REAR WHEELS SKIPPING

I have ran into this issue before, and could not figure it out, when I am driving and turning the vehicle forward or reverse the rear wheels skip. Anyone got a clue because I don't.

it's locked... check the transfer linkage. basically the wheels are spinning at the same time, similar to LSD.

agreed. But if it's in High Lock (HL) the fronts would be doing it as well. There is always a chance the diff is damaged.

Put in jack stands all around and spin one tire. If all of them move then that's your issue. HMMWVs don't have locking diffs, the operator manual has a technique where you lightly apply the breaks to "Lock" them up. I could go into the how-to on the way an open diff works but it's boring and pointless in this thread. PM me if you're interested to know.
