I thought the reset was behind the passenger seat. Also yes I have a tranx. I watched the little video and it didn’t help. I tried both tests. Still stumped.

you need to have the tranx hooked up and someone in the back seat trying to manually shift the transmission while you are driving it down the road. Knowing for sure that you are in fact not leaving 1st or you have just been stuck in 2nd makes all the difference.

So with the TRANX we were able to go through all the gears from 1st to four with no problems. We didn’t start in second either. So I’m thinking it’s the TCM.

Have you checked the crank sensor in the front engine cover? If the transmission can't tell how fast the engine is turning, it can't tell what to do.
Engine RPM, TPS, TISS, TOSS and gear selector are all inputs that the TCM looks at and has to see the info to know what to do
