I am going to echo SuperMod, load the mobile app. I looked for you and this post on there and couldn't find it with a quick look, will dig more later.
About your power hungry monster, look on the comm tower, you will see a small box with a switch, it may say something like "ANTENNA". It has been a long time since we had this problem, but using a test light or fluke meter, test those connections. I think you will find that there is a draw/battery voltage present. To verify if this is it, use the same draw test you would do at the shunt for a glow plug test or use the fluke at the battery in the amps setting for the parasitic drain. BE CAREFUL ON THE SETTING SO YOU DON'T BLOW FUSES IN THE METER. Make sure the fuses are good and the person who had it before you didn't blow them and not say anything or even knew they had blown them.
