M1114 sparks fly

Postby Cruzer » 11 Apr 2016, 09:42

I have a M1114 that I received back from getting a motor replaced. As soon as I connect the main negative sparks start flying, popping, smoking appears and the battery terminal begins to melt. I made sure the starter and alternator were connected properly as well as the buss bars. Any idea as to what else I should be looking into?

oh man. theres so much. start doing continuity tests and making sure nothing is grounded out. (places of interest: battery terminals hooked up right, buss bar, starter, alt, tcm, etc.)

let me know... wire chasing.. my favorite. (said no one ever)

It ended up being 68A that's connected to + terminal from the bridge that was causing the 4th of July atmosphere. It's always the simplest things that one overlooks. You fix one to find another issue. Now to diagnose a T/C Lock issue. Thanks for the reply.
