Gas in HMMWV

Postby SgtV » 30 Nov 2017, 15:58

I have an M1151A1 that one of my reservists put gasoline in the vehicle. I have flushed out the gas with Diesel, we don't have F24 here. The vehicle still won't start. Fuel is getting to the filter, but not the injectors. I haven't checked yet if fuel is getting to the injection pump. Is there anyway to salvage without replacing the injection pump, or should I just replace it?

How long did he drive it with gas? I've saved quite a few trucks by clearing them out without having to replace the injection pump. but it is always a possibility. Ensure you flush the lines between the tank and the mech pump and then the lines from that to the injection pump. you have to clear it all out before you continue to try and turn it over. when all is said and done, then you can crank away and pray. haha
