fuel Injection pump

Postby JMK3521 » 27 Apr 2012, 00:38

I recently received a new fuel injection pump from RIP. I installed it on an M1114, once the pump was on the truck started but there were some leaks coming from the lines going into the back of the injection pump. The truck stayed running and ran fine. I shut it off and restarted it several times. I shut the truck of a final time a few mintues later I went to start it again and it would not. Theres fuel at the check valve on the injection pump, but really no fuel going to the injectors and I bled the fuel system for air. Is it possible an issue with the pump arose that fast or is there something im missing?

check to see that you have fuel from the mechanical pump... leaking from the hardlines won't be an issue, and regardless, air at this point won't stop it from starting... I think if you have fuel and it's going to the injection pump but doesn't make it to the other side that the injection pump is bad. It happens, fill out a 1018 tag and return it with PQDR.
