Fuel Pump Rod cracked

So, ever had the issue of a fuel pump rod cracked and the other half is stuck in the engine? just came up with the perfect way to get it out. The suction pump that's in the 22, jam it up in there so it creates a tight seal and have someone yank the handle on the pump. Will pull it out and you can then reach it with the magnet in the GMTK. Can get them out in two minutes. I just went over to our 3rd shop and saw about 4 trucks there deadlined for that reason and were getting engine replacements.

engine replacements? that's freaking crazy!

I just to just lube my finger up all nice and shove it up there and then yank. it would normally come and if it didn't, I would use a coat hanger to push it out from the crank side. seems like we are getting lazier. replace an engine for that....geeze.
good new trick though. thanks bud!

yeah the one in the mechanical fuel pump, more commonly called the 'Push Rod.' Yeah I use a coat hanger and push it back through after removing the mechanical fuel pump. I push the back of the rod from the crank side and it comes out.
