Load range D or E???

Postby Grandpa3523 » 14 Apr 2015, 07:26

We are installing the MCTAGS Kits on the EVC M1151A1. In the instructions there is a warning for any vehicle equipped with Frag7 roof must have Load range E tires. Per Mr. Baltes, the Marine Corps does not use Frag 7 roofs, only Army HMMWV's. further he also stated that any up armored HMMWV's SHOULD have load range E tires. An inspection of the vehicles in our maintenance cycle, we would need almost 100 tires at a cost of about $1100/tire. I'll let you do the math, That's more than most quarterly funds available. I have put his contact info below, if you wish to inquire further.

Just my 2 cents.....

It would suck but instead of ordering whole tire assemblies, could you order just the tire? comes out to about 385/tire and a big ass request for overflow maintenance.

LOAD RANGE E TIRE REQUIRE A 24 BOLT OFFSET BOLT PATTERN. THE D RIN CAN BE 12 OR 24 BOLT, BUT BOTH ARE EVENLY SPACED BOLT PATTERN. THE RIMS ARE DIFFERENT SO TIRE ONLY OPTION WILL NOT WORK. AS FOR THE REQUEST FOR OVER FLOW, WE REQUESTED THROUGH II MEF, WITH NOTHING HEARD AS OF YET. WE ARE A CIVILIAN OPERATED SHOP, WORKING RBE UNITS. WE GET THEM AS THEM COME. ONE UNIT TOWED IN ABOUT 40%, 9 MONTHS LATER THEY DROVE ALL OF THE VEHICLES AWAY WITH 100% PM/CM COMPLETE.
